This collage stems from a few dazzling color illustrations from a medical encylopedia published at the end of the 1800s.
If you invert the work you’ll see a very sick child gazing desolately into the distance (in this case 120 years forward) , but in my version they are growing and expanding through the powers of nature with flowers for eyes and a stomach in bloom.
The blooming flowers matched perfectly with the boys eyes, and the rest of this collage just came together on a late night roll. The artifacts of its creation in terms of rough edges and the faces repetition, as well as the color blends, combine to give a impulse of transmission, comprehension, penetration, recognition and understanding. Or maybe thats just how I feel.
The print is made with highest quality Epson pigment ink onto archival pearl photo paper. It is signed on the back (except A5).
It is recommended not to display inkjet prints in direct sunlight. And watch out for fingerprints 🙂
This artwork ships in a biodegradable sleeve with thick cardboard backing support. A2 ships rolled with ph neutral transparent paper.
