This pleasant juxtaposition is a mildly colored composition of some miraculous and amazing feathered animals and some ornate and heavy metal weapons of war and military costumes used and worn by other, not so feathered and definitely not so clever animals. Softening the contrast and adding a neurological light blue glow are some scientific plant illustrations, adding another layer of mystery and wonder to what is an aesthetically pleasing yet conceptually absurd image. Collage is at its best combining contrasting images and creating new meanings.
Which brings me to the lyrics of Paul Simon from the song The Boy in the Bubble: “These are the days of miracle and wonder”….
